Police officer Anuj Chaudhary, who came into the spotlight following the communal violence that erupted in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal district on November 24 last year, has now been transferred from his current posting. He was serving as the Circle Officer (CO) of Sambhal, but has now been reassigned to the Chandausi Circle, which also lies within the Sambhal district. Though technically still in the same district, the move is being seen by many as significant, both administratively and politically.
Anuj Chaudhary garnered attention for his swift action and visible presence during and after the communal clashes in Sambhal, which had resulted in significant unrest and damage to public and private property. His role in controlling the situation and restoring law and order was widely reported.
