He expressed confidence that the G-20 objectives will be advanced during Brazil’s incoming administration. The virtual assembly will be planned to coincide with the conclusion of the Indian administration in November.

A major issue at the two-day summit was the confirmation of the African Union as part of the modern G-20. This was followed by a personal announcement by Mr. Modi on the ‘Joint Declaration’ of the summit, which was achieved through agreement overcoming sharp contradictions between the individuals regarding the Ukraine crisis.

Soon after declaring the summit concluded, Mr Modi arranged meetings with leaders including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, President Lula da Silva, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.

“We talked about ways to encourage cement exchange and framework linkages between India and Turkey,” Prime Minister Modi said after meeting President Erdogan.
