ISRO is proud to announce on Sunday the successful first global flight of Aditya L1, India’s flagship solar program, at ISTRAC in Bengaluru. The space agency also confirmed that the satellite is in good condition and functioning as expected.

ISRO shared an exciting update on “X” (formerly Twitter) and said: “Aditya- L1 Mission: Satellite is healthy and functional. First Ground Control (EBN #1) on ISTRAC in 2013. The new orbit completed is 245 km x 22459 km.”

Aditya-L1: When is the next maneuver?

The next launch, labeled EBN #2, is scheduled for September 5, 2023, at approximately 3:00 am ISRO announced, specifically that this mission’s next priority is IST. Aditya started her L1 journey on September 2 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. The main mission to explore the Outer Sun will be India’s first solar observatory at Sun-Earth L1. “L1” represents Lagrangian point 1, where the plane should be.

It is worth noting that the satellite started to generate electricity after using the solar panel. ISRO has announced that Aditya-L1 will be 1.5 million kilometers from Earth, with a focus on the Sun. This distance is only one-hundredth of the distance between the Earth and the Sun to ensure that the satellite does not stay close to the ground or the Sun during the mission.
