Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes UP Budget, Says Lives Lost Matter More Than Numbers, Slams Government for Withholding Data on Victims

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has strongly criticized the state government’s budget, calling it inadequate and disconnected from the ground realities of the people. He has accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of presenting an unrealistic financial roadmap that fails to address key concerns such as rising unemployment, inflation, and most importantly, the loss of lives due to various government failures.

During a press conference, Yadav highlighted that while the budget presents impressive figures and growth projections, it completely ignores the hardships faced by the common people. He argued that instead of boasting about economic numbers, the government should focus on the statistics that truly matter—the number of people who have lost their lives due to government negligence, lack of healthcare, and mismanagement of law and order.

Government’s Failure in Addressing Human Loss

Akhilesh Yadav expressed deep concern over the state’s inability to provide concrete figures on the number of people who have died due to issues such as poor healthcare, farmer distress, and crime. He pointed out that families across Uttar Pradesh are struggling with losses caused by administrative failures, yet the government refuses to acknowledge their pain.

He also questioned the government’s handling of disasters, both natural and man-made. Citing incidents such as floods, road accidents, and police excesses, Yadav claimed that the government’s silence on these figures shows its insensitivity toward the people. He accused the ruling party of deliberately hiding data related to deaths caused by inadequate medical facilities, increasing crime rates, and the deteriorating law and order situation.

Farmers and Unemployed Youth Ignored in the Budget

Yadav criticized the budget for failing to address the problems of farmers and unemployed youth. He stated that while the government boasts about economic growth, farmers continue to struggle under mounting debt, low crop prices, and an increasing number of suicides. The budget, he argued, provides no real relief or solutions for these pressing issues.

Similarly, he pointed out that the unemployment crisis in the state has reached alarming levels, yet the budget lacks substantial provisions to generate jobs for the youth. The SP leader claimed that despite tall promises, the government has failed to provide employment opportunities, leading to frustration among the younger generation.

Political Vendetta and Suppression of Truth

Akhilesh Yadav further alleged that the BJP government is engaging in a political vendetta by suppressing data that would expose its failures. He claimed that crucial reports on crime statistics, economic distress, and healthcare inadequacies are either manipulated or hidden from the public to maintain a false image of progress.

He urged the government to be transparent and take accountability for its shortcomings instead of focusing on self-promotion. Yadav called for an immediate release of data related to deaths caused by various governance failures and demanded financial assistance for the affected families.

Conclusion

In his fiery critique, Akhilesh Yadav emphasized that governance is not just about numbers in a budget but about the people whose lives are affected by policy decisions. He urged the ruling party to focus on real issues rather than indulging in political propaganda. With the upcoming elections in mind, Yadav’s statements reflect a larger political strategy to hold the government accountable while appealing to the grievances of the people.
