Pahalgam J&K CM’s Heartfelt Statement on Terror Attack: Assault on Tourists Is an Attack on Humanity and Kashmiriyat Alike
In the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister issued a deeply emotional and strongly worded statement, condemning the senseless violence that claimed innocent lives. The attack, which targeted tourists enjoying the scenic beauty of the region, has once again shaken the collective conscience of the nation and raised serious questions about the safety of civilians and visitors in the Valley.
The Chief Minister, visibly moved while addressing the media, expressed profound grief and anger. “I am extremely shocked and pained by this heinous act of violence. This is not just an attack on individuals—it is an attack on the soul of Kashmir, on our values, our culture, and on Kashmiriyat,” the CM said, holding back tears.
The incident involved unidentified gunmen opening fire on a group of tourists in the popular tourist destination of Pahalgam. Among the injured was a local vendor and a couple from outside the state, one of whom tragically lost his life while enjoying a quiet evening snack. Eyewitnesses described the horror as bullets shattered the calm of the mountain town, and the victims fell without warning or provocation.
The CM’s remarks reflected not only political leadership but also the pain of a region long tormented by violence. “Kashmir has always welcomed its guests with open arms. This attack goes against everything we stand for as a people. It is a blow to humanity, to peace, and to the spirit of our land,” the CM added, calling for unity and resilience in the face of terror.
Security forces have since launched a wide-scale manhunt to apprehend those responsible. High-level meetings have been held to reassess the region’s security apparatus, especially in tourist-heavy zones. The administration has promised to leave no stone unturned in bringing the culprits to justice.
